Our new home

Most of you already know this, but over the summer Derek and I built our first home! It was a crazy, fun, awful, stressful, exciting experience! There were SO many decisions to be made and often times something didn't get done quite right(to my standards) or they didn't get something done when they said it would be done. I've learned that the latter is just to be expected from construction workers! Nothing ever got done when they said. In fact, our house was suppose to be finished and ready for us to move in July 17....HA that's a laugh! July 17 came and went, they told us it would be the beginning of August. Well that came and went too, as did the end of August! They eventually finished and we moved in September 15! Better late than never I guess. We LOVE living here, it's amazing!

Its in Saratoga Springs and Talons Cove golf course is our backyard. We're on the second hole if that matters to anyone. :) We love our neighborhood, its really quiet and we don't have hardly any traffic which is what we really wanted in a neighborhood. Our house sits on 1/3 acre which will have sod by the end of next week! Yay no more dirt/mud in my house!

I've taken a ton of pictures of the house so you can see, but I haven't gotten much to the decorating. I'm still trying to get a feel for my house and what I want the colors/decor to look like. But I am totally open for suggestions, I NEED ideas people! I have never dealt with decorating this much space before, I'm just used to all the little apartments/houses we've lived in up until now.

I'm blogging from my phone for the first time ever, so I'm not sure how all the pics will be layed out but I'll explain some of the house the best I can. It's a 2 story house. The main floor has an entry, office, master bedroom and bathroom, living room, dining area, kitchen, mud room, bathroom, and a laundry room. The upstairs has a bathroom, and 4 bedrooms. There is also a full unfinished basement which will have 2 or 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, a cold storage, another storage room, and a theater room. We also have the 3 car garage, plenty of room for that boat that we WILL (someday) own. :) The pic of the big wooden door is the door to the master bath and is a sliding barn style door that Derek and I made, it turned out really good! We still need to put the handle on it though. hope you enjoy all the pics!
